School News
Our Technology Student Association students had nine first place event placements and earned 36 medals at the Colorado Technology Student Association State Conference in February. Way to go!
Our orchestra students will be performing tonight, March 6. The concert starts at 6 pm.
2024 Day Without Hate t-shirts are available to preorder for $6 with order form and payment turned into the main office by Friday, March 8. Shirts will be delivered by the week of April 15th.
Students will want to check the lost and found, located across from counseling, for any items they may have misplaced. Unclaimed items will be sorted and either discarded or donated to charity during spring break.
There will be no school for Spring Break March 18 - 22. Monday, March 25 is a staff development day, so classes will resume on Tuesday, March 26.
Our sixth and seventh grade invites all West Jeff Middle students and staff to participate in a Spirit Week the week of March 11! The daily themes are:
Monday, March 11: Vintage Day - dress from any decade of the past
Tuesday, March 12: Dress as a Teacher Day
Wednesday, March 13: Tropical Tourist Day - beach vibes and Hawaiian shirts (no swimwear please)
Thursday, March 14: Jersey Day - represent your favorite team
Friday, March 15: Wacky Clothes Day
Families of students that will be recognized in short Honor Roll assemblies for Trimester 2 grades will receive a notification via SchoolMessenger the week of March 11th. A GPA of 4.0 is recognized with Gold Honor Roll; a GPA of 3.9-3.5 is recognized with Silver Honor Roll. Families are welcome to attend.

Our sixth grade students have entered their elective course choices for the upcoming school year directly into Infinite Campus. Families may view a list of elective classes in their student’s Google Classroom for their science class. Our next Coffee with the Counselors will take place Friday, March 29th from 8:45 - 9:45 am in room 109 on the subject of interpersonal relationships and the neurodivergent brain with a guest from the Colorado Center for Neurofeedback & Peak Performance. While this topic may appeal especially to families of students that have been identified as gifted and talented, neurodivergent learners, or living with ADHD, all are welcome to join for this engaging conversation. Please complete the Coffee with the Counselors RSVP form if you plan to join us!
The draft minutes from the February School Accountability Committee meeting are available on the school website. The next meeting will take place on Monday, April 22 at 4 pm.

Students that have formed teams for the Jeffco Middle School Battle of the Books should be reading the books and taking notes in preparation for our school competition.
Individual counseling services with Resilience 1220 therapists are now being offered at our school during the school day. If your student already works with a Resilience 1220 therapist and you are interested in your student meeting during the school day, please reach out to your therapist directly. Drop Off and Pick Up Reminder
We have worked very hard to try and make the drop off and pick up as smooth as possible for you. This has been streamlined by having cars enter WJMS by coming down Stansbery St, allowing for the line of cars to move straight into our parking lot and freeing up the intersection for the busses to swing out of our driveway.
There has been a recent uptick in reports that cars are coming down Barnes and turning left into our lot, cutting in front of the line of cars attempting to follow the process we have asked of everyone. If you are coming down Barnes, please take a right down Stansbery St and join the line. The best way to accomplish this is to turn on Fisbeck Ct, just behind the post office, and join the line on Stansbery from the rear.
Thank you for following this traffic pattern so that everyone can get through as smoothly as possible. We understand the traffic can be frustrating, but this process has worked the best given the constraints of the neighborhood.

Thank you to Brittany Smith, JoLene Kucera, and all the parent volunteers who donated their time and treasure to the Glow Gala. It was a huge success!
Our PTA is sponsoring a school supplies drive through March to restock classroom supplies. If you would like to support this initiative, please consider making a monetary donation or committing to pick up supplies from the list. There are bins at school to collect items. Thank you!
The next School Store is coming up Thursday, March 14 during lunches. Students may pay with cash, card or Google/Apple Pay. Nothing is over $5 and all proceeds benefit the PTA which goes right back to helping students! Check out the flier of new items for more information.
Join us for a night out at Urban Air on Thursday, April 25th from 4 - 8 pm. A portion of the proceeds will benefit our school. More details will be coming soon.

Register now for Conifer's Got Talent: Conifer's Got Talent is calling for youth talent submissions by March 15! Scheduled for Friday, April 19, 2024 from 6 - 9 pm at Conifer High School, winning contestants will earn the opportunity to perform as opening acts for the 2024 EPRD Summer Concert Series at Evergreen Lake or at Buchanan Fields. Conifer's Got Talent is open to musicians, singers, actors, and comedians 18 years old and younger who are part of the greater Conifer mountain community. Satos Run Club: Registration is open for a running club program open to students in the mountain area. Training sessions are every Wednesday and Saturday from March 27 through May 18. Please visit the Satos Run Club website for more information.
South Jeffco Football: South Jeffco Coyotes player evaluations for the 2024 football season will take place on Sunday, April 14 at the Columbine High School gymnasium. Registration is required and players should be prepared with sneakers and a water bottle.
Juniors Recreational Mountain Bike Program: Registration opens January 3 for a recreational mountain bike program in Conifer offered by Avout Racing. Practices will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting April 16 for the spring season. Most practices will be held at parks in or near Conifer. Mountain Predators Football and Cheer: Registration is open for the 2024 Mountain Predators tackle football and cheerleading season! Summer Musical Theatre Camp: Registration is open for Ovation West Performing Arts and Mountain Youth Musicals’ summer programs at CenterStage in Evergreen. Programs for middle-school-aged students include Theatre Tech one and two-week sessions and a two-week session for students ages 12 - 14 by June 1 to perform scenes from Hadestown.
