Clash of the Classrooms

Our primary school fundraising event in recent years has been a fun run. For the 2020-2021 school year, the event will be a Clash of the Classrooms running from October 19 through November 13.

To help meet an immediate need for technology to support teachers' delivery of virtual and in-person teaching, including video cables to use secondary displays and voice amplifiers, the Clash of the Classrooms fundraiser will challenge homeroom classes to raise funds through donations from October 19 through November 13. Any funds left after meeting those needs will be used for other needs at our school.

Evergreen Orthodontic Specialists is sponsoring prizes of gift cards that will be awarded to the highest fundraising homeroom class in each grade for each week, the highest fundraising homeroom class overall, and the highest fundraising individual student overall. A gift card will also be awarded to the homeroom teacher whose class raises the highest value in donations.

Other Fundraising Opportunities

See this... clip it; see this... scan your receiptWe have a collection bucket by Mrs. Jessee's window in the commons for Box Tops for Education clips, which are sent in twice a year. In recent years, the proceeds support purchasing playground balls for the recess cart, which is maintained by our counselors. The program has changed to use a mobile application where users scan their store receipt within two weeks after purchasing Box Tops products, but unexpired clips are still being accepted.

The PTA has coordinated additional fundraising opportunities to support the school. Some of these opportunities may still be active:

Shopping through American Furniture Warehouse with the promo code "SCHOOL" and either our school name (West Jefferson Middle School) or code (WJMS68) nets a donation of 2% back on all purchases and 4% on Simmons products. This can be done at any store location, online or by phone.

Eudaimonia Human Flourishing Center in Indian Hills offers a free trial class and a percentage of memberships that list West Jeff Middle as their referral back to our school. They offer classes for all ages, including parkour/ninja warrior-style training, mixed modality HIIT classes, yoga and therapeutic exercise classes.

Shopping through Schoola for quality gently-used clothes online nets 40% of the amount spent back to the school associated with purchased items.

Nights where local restaurants donate a percentage of their sales in a certain time period to the PTA. These are announced in the Weekly Wednesday Update and promoted on the outdoor marquee, the front page of the website, and as events on the PTA's Facebook page.
