Safety Situation Letter

The following information was sent to families via SchoolMessenger on Tuesday, April 30 with the subject "Incident Update at WJMS". The content has been formatted for the web.

West Jefferson Families,

To keep our community up to date with full transparency, we wanted to let you know that a reading assignment was found in a classroom with a teacher's name and a tombstone with "R.I.P." written on it. There are no student names on the paper and the teacher is aware of the note.

While it is not like either of the notes found last week, it is still concerning behavior that we are taking seriously in light of recent events. If anyone has information about this note, please report it to administration, a teacher, or through the Safe2Tell program at 877-542-7233, online at https://safe2tell.org/, or the app (iOS | Android).

It is with events like these that we need support from our families to help students understand the potential impact of writing impulsive notes on others.
