Con-Con - May 7 and 18, 2018

Thank you for helping make our inaugural WJMS Coni-Con a success!

This spring, our sixth and seventh grade students created original graphic novels - done individually, in partners, and small groups - about decision making (sixth grade) and important historical, scientific, and cultural events (seventh grade). Their work was showcased at Coni-Con in presentations that explain how they developed the theme through characterization, dialogue, small actions, and artistry. Awards related to creativity, artistry, and critical thinking were given out at the end of May 8th.

We were thrilled to have special guests including Jefferson County Public Library, artist Andrew Vencer, Jim and Troy from Hyperdyne Labs, achievement director Dan Cohan and superintendent Dr. Jason Glass.

We are thankful to local businesses that helped with prizes: Alamo Drafthouse Denver, BeauJo's Pizza in Evergreen, Blizzard Mountain Pinball, Chill'd Frozen Yogurt, King Soopers, Liks Ice Cream, Papa Murphy's Pizza, and Target - and to Qdoba for catering our adult lunch on Monday.
