School News

PTA School Store is tomorrow, September 14 during lunches. All items cost $5 or less and the proceeds go directly to the PTA to support our school.

Our seventh grade students will have hearing and vision screenings on Friday, September 15. Students that wear glasses are asked to bring them to school that day. Families that do not want their student to be screened should complete the opt-out letter and return it to the school office.

Please join us at West Jeff Middle for our Community Mental Health Resource Showcase on Tuesday, September 19 from 5 - 7 pm. Your WJMS Mental Health Team will kick off the evening with a short presentation about individual roles supporting students and families. Following will be the first "Coffee with the Counselors" session discussing back to school anxiety and relevant strategies for families. Community partners in attendance will include Resilience 1220, Mountain Resource Center, and Conifer Counseling. Coffee and light refreshments provided. Please RSVP to help us plan for attendance. Please contact Dan Keane, [email protected], with any questions.

There will be no school on Friday, September 22 for a non-student contact day. Classes will resume as usual on Monday, September 25.

The draft minutes from yesterday's School Accountability Committee meeting are available on the school website. The next meeting will take place on Monday, October 23 at 4 pm.

The first trimester evening performances by our instrumental music students are coming up in October: band students will be performing on Wednesday, October 11 and orchestra students will be performing on Tuesday, October 17. Both concerts start at 6 pm at our school.

West Jeff Middle families are organizing Gold Crown basketball team(s) for 6th and 7th grade girls that will practice in Conifer.  If you are interested in learning more, please provide your contact information by filling out the Conifer Girls Basketball Program (6th/7th) Google Form.  Here are some important dates:

Our health room has two reminders for families:

Please refer to the How Sick is Too Sick? handout from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) on when students and staff should stay home from school, work or child care.

Please send a copy of your student's updated immunization record to the office if they have received school-required immunizations recently.

Adult family or community members available at the beginning or end of the school day to help keep the drop-off and pickup of students safe and well supervised are invited to volunteer with our Watch D.O.G.S.!
