School News

If your student has medication in the school’s health room, please plan to pick up any unused medication by May 27. All medication that is left in the school health room after May 27th will be disposed of according to district policy. If you have any questions, please contact our school health aide Jessica Leonard, 303-982-3056, Jessica.Leonard@jeffco.k12.co.us.

Students that have purchased yearbooks will receive them on May 27th. Families may want to review yearbook signing etiquette with their students:

  • People will remember you by what you write in their yearbook. Make sure that what you sign is school appropriate.

  • Be kind. If you don’t have something nice to say, just sign your name or add a statement like "enjoy your summer."

  • Respect others and their property. If you ruin another person’s yearbook, you will need to pay for it. The cost is $12.

7th and 8th grade students that have been in 100% remote learning may return Chromebooks and chargers checked out to them on Friday, May 28. Please email digital teacher-librarian Mrs. Baker with any questions.

Jeffco Transportation asks that students issued a ZPass card for buses this year hold onto them. The ZPass is designed to be reused from year to year. Replacement cards are $15.

8th Grade Continuation:
While there have been changes to COVID rules and regulations in recent days, we want our community to know that Continuation is only for the students this year. In order to have a ceremony within scheduling and logistical constraints on an early release day, we have plans for a student-centered Continuation assembly and will be celebrating them throughout the day. Our wonderful PTA will be providing gift bags for each student as we celebrate their end of middle school. Thank you for your support as we do our best to keep our community healthy.

Our 8th grade students that have been in a remote learning environment are invited to attend school on May 27th. Students joining us on campus will follow their schedule and attend the Continuation assembly with their homeroom class. 8th grade students in remote learning that are unable to attend for the entire day are welcome to come for just the Continuation portion of the day with drop off at 9:40 am and pickup at 10:45 am. Families cannot stay on school property during the last day of school, so please plan on leaving after drop off and returning for pickup. Thank you for understanding, and we hope that your 8th grader will come join us to celebrate their year of school and transition into high school.

Summer Math Boot Camp

Are you concerned that your student has gaps in their math skills as a result of the transitions in learning models due to the pandemic? Conifer High School is offering an in-person Math Boot Camp to target specific prerequisite skills for future success in Algebra 1. The boot camp will meet from 12 pm to 2 pm June 7 - 10 and June 14 - 17.

The Math Boot Camp will be taught by current high school math teacher(s) that will use individualized instructional practices to target areas of needed improvement and reinforcement of skills. Students will receive both direct and individualized instruction with intention to fill gaps, provide practice, and increase math fluency. Students will work towards developing standard proficiencies as well as deepen their conceptual pre-algebraic foundation.

Free registration is required. The Math Boot Camp is offered at no cost to current Jeffco Public Schools students.
