The following letter was sent to families via SchoolMessenger on Monday, August 3. The content has been formatted for the web.



Dear West Jeff Middle Families,

Two weeks ago, Jeffco Public Schools announced that all secondary grades (6-12) will be provided a hybrid option in addition to a fully (100%) remote/online option for learning this fall. Last week, we released more details as to what each of these options would look like at West Jefferson Middle School.

We realize that the information released may change your student’s learning preferences from what you requested in July. Therefore, we are asking that you complete this NEW West Jefferson Middle School Learning Preference form for our school to account for these changes, even if you completed the district form last month.

Please complete this form whether you are returning to our school or not. We need all families to complete this form by Friday, August 7th. The preference information is needed to assist staff in creating students' schedules prior to the beginning of school.

If you cannot complete the learning preference form by August 7th or you need assistance, please contact tricia.samuelson@jeffco.k12.co.us.

Additional information was provided the following morning in response to questions the school received after the letter was sent: Follow-up to Survey questions 8-4-20

A key takeaway from the additional information is that while families may choose to move students that start in the hybrid model to remote learning at any time, moving students from remote learning to hybrid learning may only occur at the change in trimester.
