Free/Reduced Lunch

Your student(s) may qualify for free and/or reduced price lunches for the upcoming school year. Please see the important notes below regarding applying for Free and Reduced Lunch benefits for the 2017-2018 school year:

  • Parents must apply every year beginning July 1 for each upcoming school year. Parents will complete only one Free and Reduced Price School Meals Application for all students in your household.

  • If your child(ren) were on the Free and Reduced Meal Program on the last day of the 2016-2017 school year, that status (free or reduced) will be carried over until a new application is processed, or September 29, 2017. When this carry-over period ends, unless the household is notified that their children are directly certified or the household submits an application that is approved, the children must pay full price for school meals. Please note that the school will not send a reminder notice or a notice of expired eligibility.

  • School-based fees (bus, class fees, athletics) may be waived if you complete the Information Release Section on the online application. When completing the Free and Reduced Price Meal Application, parents must consent to the disclosure of the application information for use as an application for other fee waivers. When completing the online Free and Reduced Meals Application, you will see a section that says: "Please share my student's eligibility for fee waivers with the programs I have checked below (Class fees, Transportation, Athletics)." Be sure to check all boxes that apply to your child(ren).

  • Students pre-approved through the Food Stamp Direct Certification process will receive a Direct Certification approval letter and Direct Certification Information Release form in the mail prior to the start of school. You may return the completed and signed Information Release Form for Students Approved through Direct Certification in order to have your student's school-based fees waived. Direct Certification approval is done by individual student, not by family. PLEASE check to make sure you have received a letter of approval for each child in your family. If you have not, please call the Food and Nutrition Services office at 303-982-6916.
